the basics
▶ CANON: Torchwood
▶ AGE: 31
▶ BIRTHDAY: February 14, 1980.
▶ IN DARROW SINCE: April 6, 2012, having transfered from Tabula Rasa. He was there from January 2009 through August 2010. Don't ask him about the time discrepancy.
▶ RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION: Firmly atheist.
▶ SEXUALITY: Fluid. Owen gravitates more toward women, but is attracted to and has been intimate with both sexes.
▶ RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single, just out of an extended relationship with a coworker who had also been transported to the city.
▶ MEYERS BRIGGS: ISTP: The Mechanic.
▶ CURRENT ADDRESS: Ocean View #36
▶ DRIVES: Black 2012 Porche Cayman, acquired in Darrow's early days, before the NPCs arrived.
▶ OCCUPATION: Doctor, Researcher. Owen operates under a somewhat flimsy but reliable cover story and works at Darrow's main hospital sporadically. He spends the rest of his time researching the city's anomalies in an abandoned and renovated subway station in an undisclosed location in Darrow.
▶ CURRENTLY: Refocusing, pushing most people away, keeping himself scarce.

the more you know
SIGHT: Owen stands at 5'9", with an easy, casual wardrobe that radiates "bad boy." There's a swagger about him, and confidence in the way he moves almost to the point of overconfidence. He takes up spaces when he sits, slouching and draping himself over furniture. He's prone to chewing on pens, especially when he's deep in thought or trying to work a problem.
» DEFINING CHARACTERISTICS: Leftover from a near-death experience and an actual death experience, Owen has a number of scars, most of which aren't usually visible. He's been shot three times. There's a fading scar on his left hip, and one on his left shoulder. The one that doesn't fade is on his chest, leftover from the fatal gunshot that left him in a state of living dead for three days prior to his transport to Tabula Rasa. The visible scar is a thin one on his left hand, the fault of carelessly playing around with a scalpel.

» STYLE: Jeans, trainers, assorted t-shirts and dark colors. He's prone to wearing an assortment of jackets, usually black and leather. "Effortless cool" is a good term for it. While he favors darker colors, he doesn't have a problem with brighter ones, and will toss the occasional pink shirt into his wardrobe. He's also a fan of layers, pairing a screen-printed t-shirt with a solid colored undershirt, or wearing a solid color tee underneath a button up.

Owen generally wears a copious amount of product in his hair and needs glasses but always, always wears contacts instead. He doesn't often wear jewelry, but the occasional simple necklace will sometimes find its way into the rotation. Often, but not always, Owen carries his gun. He favors the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 4.3.

SOUND: Originally from London, Owen speaks with an English accent. He's bitterly sarcastic, frequently sardonic, and is likely to speak over people when he's convinced they're wrong. He never has issue speaking up for himself or arguing his point, especially because he's usually convinced he's right. Sometimes, he's purposefully tactless, a defense mechanism and a way of gauging a person's reactions. He swears frequently, and gives people nicknames whether they like it or not. He's not above raising his voice, and will shout petulantly to make sure he's heard if the need arises. Bits of British slang are usually sprinkled throughout his vocabulary.

SMELL: Clinical. Owen often smells of chemicals and rubber gloves, and sometimes the copper smell of dried blood. Sometimes something slightly alien. On any given day, there's no telling what Owen's been up to his elbows in, so his scent can vary. When he does wear cologne, it's those with more leathery and smoky undertones. Never woodsy scents; Owen isn't a fan of nature smells.

TOUCH: Owen's good with his hands. Years of doctoring and alien autopsies have left him more dexterous than the average person. However, Owen's is not a very physical person with strangers, and often not even with his friends. It's not that Owen isn't capable of it, most of it is a defense mechanism that he's built up over the years. He may comfort a close friend with a hug when they need it, but it's not the sort of contact that he seeks out for himself.

DEMEANOR:

SPACES: One bedroom, dining room, living room, one full bath. Owen's flat is sparse, and there's not much beyond what was initially provided by the city in terms of decor; it's the kind of place that doesn't look completely lived in. He doesn't keep much food around, instead often opting for take out (pizza, Chinese, the containers of which are often found in the trash). The dining room table is seldom used for eating, and is usually home to several piles of papers instead. Mitsuki, the Akita he inherited from his ex-girlfriend Tosh has a bed in the kitchen and a crate in the bathroom.

INFORMATION FOR PSYCHICS AND OTHER MAGIC USERS:
»

MAGICAL ABILITIES: None, though he has a knowledge of the various magical and supernatural creatures in Darrow and has access to several alien artifacts that some might mistake for magic. There's an alien pendant that grants the wearer the ability to read minds, and a metal glove that brings the recently deceased back to life for a limited time.

MEDICAL INFORMATION: Nothing physical; all of Owen's issues are psychological. The biggest is likely his contining to deal with the three days that he spent dead in Cardiff before being transported to Tabula Rasa. It left him with a bit of a phobia of dark places, and he still only sleeps a few hours a night.

GOD-MODDING: None at the moment.
